- Let's take a look at how we would split or detach entities in Alias. In this case I'm gonna go to my left view, and let's start with these entities at the top here. I'm just gonna Alt+L to reframe. We have a periodic circle and a non-periodic circle. We've covered these in detail in previous videos, and the goal here now is to split these into four pieces. I'm gonna go to Object Edit, Attach, Detach. And in this case I'm gonna hold the left mouse button cursor right over the circle. Press CTRL, snap, and again snap. I have to do at least two snaps on a periodic entity to break that. Let's continue on with that. Space bar, space bar. Now I have four distinct pieces. Now, with a non-periodic entity I don't have to break it twice. All I can do is go straight into the curve, accept, and I have a separate segment here. Now, I'm gonna go ahead and break this one here down at the 6 o'clock position, but there's nowhere for me to snap to. What we can do here is just locate the cursor…
