Subdivision (SubD) modeling for concept development modeling for concept development

- [Instructor] Imagine having the ability to create rapid concept models, that have curvature continuity already built into them. Imagine having the ability to work in a hybrid mode that shares the functionality of polygon modeling and alias modeling. Welcome to the world of subdivision modeling in Autodesk Alias. Hello, my name is Veejay Gahir and welcomed Alias sub-D essential training. Aliases without question are one of the premier CAD applications for concept modeling and class A surfacing. It's used in virtually every major design studio throughout the world, and in every market segment from automotive to aerospace to consumer products. The goal of this course is to introduce you to the new capability embedded within the Alias application core subdivision modeling or sub-Ds. Once you become familiar with the sub-D toolset, you will begin to understand the capability and potential to create rapid high quality concept models. Modeling in sub-Ds offers a unique approach to math modeling, sharing a capability of Alias coupled with unique commands developed exclusively for sub-Ds. Users can now expand their potential to go from concepts to class A in one application. This capability now opens the door for Alias users to delve into the world of concept development without having to learn a new software package and interface. So let's get started with Alias sub-D essential training.
