What are SubD entities?

- [Instructor] Subdivision bodies are a collection of nervous surface patches that provide a smooth continuous solution for creating objects and organic shapes. It's almost impossible to create a body with discontinuous boundaries unless you intentionally insert a crease within the SubD body. SubD bodies are by their nature inherently smooth. Working with SubD services allows a user to create rapid concepts and theme models all within the alias application. Now you have the ability to create rapid designs using the SubD functionality and at the same time taking advantage of existing alias commands. The end result is a unique hybrid approach to CAD model development. Many of the core commands that we use on a daily basis with an alias can also be used in SubD services.
