- [Instructor] Backing up the configuration of your IT systems and data is an important business continuity strategy. In this particular example, I'm going to use Microsoft Azure to configure the backup of cloud-based virtual machines. We could also backup on premises servers, of course. So to get started here, in the Azure portal, I'll click create a resource in the upper left. I will type in the word backup and what I want is backup and site recovery. So I'll do that and I'll click create. I first begin by creating a recovery services vault which must be deployed into a resource group. And I have to give a name to the vault. I'm going to call this VaultYhz172 so that's a unique name in accordance with organizational naming conventions and I'm going to place that vault in the East US region. I'll click next for tagging.
