Peered VPC connections

- [Instructor] In the Amazon Web Services Cloud, you can link or peer VPCs together. But first, let's talk about what a VPC is, and secondly, let's discuss why you would want to peer VPCs together? What is the benefit? So let's start with VPCs, a virtual private cloud, or a VPC, is a virtual network definition in the AWS Cloud. So if you need to provision cloud resources like virtual machines, you're going to need a VPC, and within that, a subnet into which you will deploy your virtual machine. So this is similar in the Microsoft Azure Cloud environment to a VNet. So it contains one or more subnets, and each service that is deployed within a VPC subnet can have a public IP address and/or a private IP address. So the private IP address is primarily of interest here when we talk about VPC peering. So we know that what this means is that we are linking VPCs directly together. We've not yet defined why.
