Private clouds

- There are a number of different cloud computing delivery models, otherwise called deployment models. One of which is a Private Cloud. Now a private cloud means, that we've got all cloud computing characteristics that are being adhered to. So just because we have virtualization, we've got a hypervisor in some virtual machines running on it in our on-premise data center, that does not constitute a private cloud, because we aren't adhering to all cloud computing characteristics with just that statement. Cloud computing characteristics would include things like, metered or tracked usage, on demand self-provisioning of IT services, also broad network access and so on. So to have a private cloud, we must meet all cloud computing characteristics. The infrastructure would then be owned and used by a single organization.
