Requesting Spot Instances

- [Instructor] To request spot instances, log into your AWS Management Console and navigate to the EC2 service. On the left navigation pane, click Spot Requests, then click Request Spot Instances. There are four types of requests that you can make depending on the application or task you plan to execute. Use Load Balancing Workloads to launch instances of the same size in any availability zone. Use Flexible Workloads to launch instances of any size in any availability zone. Use Big Data Workloads to launch instances of any size in a single availability zone. And use Defined Duration Workloads to launch instances for a block of one to six hours. AWS regularly updates its features and options available on the user interface. So when you try this on your account, it may look a bit different. For this demonstration, select Flexible Workloads.
