S3 Transfer Acceleration

- [Instructor] Amazon S3, or Simple Storage Service, is a service from AWS that allows you to store objects in the AWS cloud. It stores files in named containers known as buckets. Like most other AWS services S3 is also regional, so your buckets exist in the region in which you create them. This means that when you're uploading large objects to a region far away you can expect latency due to distance. To help with this Amazon S3 includes a feature known as Transfer Acceleration. Amazon S3 Transfer Acceleration is a bucket-level feature that enables fast transfers of files over long distances between your client and an S3 bucket. Transfer Acceleration works by using globally distributed edge locations provided by a service called Amazon CloudFront. CloudFront is Amazon's content delivery network, or CDN.
