The Android phone for Android users - Android Tutorial

- So, in this movie, we're going to talk about the Android phone for the iPhone user. But, before I do, you might be wondering who this gentleman is next to me. Kelly is a good friend of mine. He comes from Shootsta in all the way from Seattle, he came here in Toronto to be here for the filming of our Android shoot. And I want you to tell them a little about yourself. - So, I'm Kelly Guenther and I'm the North America video specialist for Shootsta. Shootsta is an Australian based company, but we have grown very quickly in the last three and a half years. We're everywhere. We're all over the globe. And we create solutions. Let you create video productions at a scale and really cost effectively. Primarily for fortune 1000 companies. - And he does a bunch of amazing trainings directly on LinkedIn. I saw some videos which is why we got together, and we're happy to share some tips with you right now. Specifically to those iPhone users because both of us used to be an iPhone user and recently we switched over to an Android device and we want to give you some tips in terms of what to expect. So, number one? - [Kelly] Number one is, it is not, these are not closed ecosystems like an iPhone, and that is an opportunity as well as a disadvantage. - [Host] And number two, there's no built in time lapse. That was one thing that really got me. When you pick up an iPhone you have a little time lapse setting. In terms of an Android device, you've got to download an app called Framelapse, which is free on the store, the Google store, but you've got to basically take that time to get it. So, I recently read a statistic that it was over three million apps available on the Google Play Store versus, in terms of the iOS ecosystem, there's around two million. I'm sure that's grown exponentially since the last time I read that article, but just to give you an idea of how much more is available. That's not to say it's better though. With that said, talking about the Android video camera, none of them are the same. There's subtle setting differences between each of the cameras. Some come with four lenses, some come with one, some come with incredible video quality, others come with not that great video quality. So, there's a really large ecosystems of phones, but what's so exciting about that, is certain phones in my opinion, actually shoot such amazing video quality, if not compared to the iPhone, maybe even a little bit better. - Absolutely yeah, I mean there's a little bit of learning. Last night I came down and learned just the S10. I had about 45 minutes with it ahead of time, and I was able to master it and get it down. I mean was it was a little bit frustrating at times? Absolutely, but there are clear advantages from this phone over an iPhone. - [Host] And Kelly shot some beautiful footage with the Movi and the S10, that we can't wait to show you. We think it just looks awesome. Even comparing that to the Google Pixel 3, that we have here as well, we got some great footage as well and we can't wait to share that 4K footage and our entire experience.
