Move from a walk to a stand
- Now it's time to move from the walk into a stopped pose. And we can do this by taking a shorter step. As you can see in this thumbnail, I have basically what amounts to a cycle here. Now these three steps are the same walk. But if I wanted to get him elegantly into a stop position, certainly one way of doing it would be to take one last shorter stride or maybe two and then ease him in. The only problem with doing it like this is it does mean an entirely different step. You're going to do a lot of work just to get that one step because it's unlikely that you can repurpose much from the existing walk cycle. Maybe the passing position, but all your arcs and a lot of other business is going to be quite different for this last little final step. So if you're under the pressure of a deadline, then it's much nicer if you can just bring him to a stop. And let's see how that works. It's certainly the simplest way, but does it look good?
