Polishing a gesture

- Now, we're gonna talk a little bit about the polish process. This is the part of the process that comes towards the end of a shot where you're trying to really figure out how things look at high level. For me, it's fixing what is visually broken first. You know, if something is popping, I'm gonna go right into that, fix it, polish it out, make it feel more physical or real. It might be making idea clearer or cleaner, a pose stronger, a hand post better, a facial expression more pushed. It's making my character feel alive, their physicality, things being connected. It's an interaction with environment or prop pieces, figuring out how my hand, my push on a surface, and really figuring out how it might splay out. Doing that is part of the polish process. It's also the tracking of patterns, arcs, figure of eights, all the things that we're looking at earlier in this course, these are the things that I wanna get in the polish process.
