Ansible for system configuration management
- [Instructor] Ansible is used for configuration management of systems so often that many network engineers, really think that's all it does. Let's quickly discuss and demonstrate the use of Ansible for configuration management. Now, it's important to understand that this product, remember was designed to be extremely minimal in nature, very simple, very easy to use, and very minimal. And really to prove that point, we remember that it is agentless. We don't have to go through the potential pain of installing sophisticated agent software on systems. Instead we'll access those remote systems using Secure Shell and we will ensure configurations are at some baseline. And an exciting thing about Ansible, is that it is state driven as we're about to demonstrate, it can examine the state of machines, and it can decide whether or not actions need to be taken.
