- [Instructor] We have two tools to help us enhance the detail of an image. They are definition, right here. We'll open that up, and sharpen, right here. Both of these work well, they work a little differently. Definition works with the midtones and it does a little midtone sharpening, a little midtone contrast, and then sharpen works on the overall image. Now the thing about sharpening is, what it's really doing is increasing contrast at the pixel level. This is fascinating. It's not really sharpening the image. It creates the illusion of sharpening the image. I'm going to zoom in and show you a little bit about how this works. Let's just put the pointer in this area over here, okay? Now the way zoom works is, I've put the pointer wherever I want, then I hit the z key and it takes me into that area. Let's start with definition, and I usually start with auto, just to see what the application recommends. Now…
