Horizontal vs. vertical framing
- [Instructor] Horizontal or vertical? Which is better for movies? Well, I have a very firm answer for you. It depends. At least that's the thinking that goes through my brain when I think about this stuff. Which is if I'm going to share on Instagram, which I do a lot, I like Instagram, I'm probably going to shoot vertically because I get more movie in that little space there, right, so I can share more information. However, if I'm going to be showing primarily on a TV, let's say that I'm going to be sharing with folks sitting around the TV in the family room, then I'm probably going to go horizontal, because it fits better on that. So at the end of the day, a lot of times, what I do if I have time, like I did on this shoot, I had time to capture in both. So I'll do some horizontal work, I'll do some vertical work, and then I'm covered. And no matter what I want to do, I have each orientation. Now, here's the thing.…
