Among all the questions I get from students and colleagues, the top one is where is the GIS data? Our world is rich with data, and much of it has a geographic component. In this part of real world GIS, I will introduce the topic of GIS data trends and introduce you to four main GIS data locations, to give you the knowledge not only to where the GIS data is, but give you the tools to master. It isn't enough to know you can download data really the question is, what can you do with your data?
