- When you first get your Cintiq there's a couple of things you have to do. One of those is optical alignment. That's what we're going to do here. I want to show you what I mean by this. When I go to the tablet here, notice that as I try to draw, my strokes are offset from where the pen is on the screen. This makes for a very difficult time in order to actually do any real work. The idea behind optical alignment is it's going to correct this. To do that, we're going to go to the Wacom desktop center and I want to go to pen calibration. We'll go down here to calibrate. Now we're going to be presented with these targets. There's going to be four of them, one in each corner. What I want to do is be in a position that I'm normally going to work because the position of where your eyes are and those targets are going to instruct the calibration to put that mark exactly under your pen when you're drawing.
