- What would you say your biggest influence is, from a recorded drum standpoint? I mean, everyone's got their favorite drum sounds, or favorite drummers, or favorite songs, albums, producers, whatever, like, when you were a kid coming up, getting into studio work, where did you look to for inspiration in that department? - Well, it's funny, it's like a lot of guys like to go and they like to have the big room, and they want to get the big Bonham sound, and the big, giant, and, they go in and clap, like, "Wow, this is amazing, it's gonna be so loud and crazy and booming." It's like, I actually have always preferred a tighter, punchier sound, personally, and nowadays, you know, with the help of all the technology that's at everyone's fingertips, you can hit a button and make it sound like it was done in a cathedral, and it's tough, if you do something in a really large room, it's tough to make that stuff come down later.
