Build your catalog
- [Instructor] I have a philosophy that success in songwriting comes from reaching a critical mass of effort. What that means to me is that the more songs that you write, the greater the likelihood that something good will happen with your music. So, build your catalog of songs. Don't obsess over any one song for too terribly long. It is much more important, in my opinion, to put together a big catalog of songs, because by doing that, you're putting more music into the world, giving yourself more opportunities, and eventually you will reach that critical mass that I'm talking about and good things will start to happen.
