Do a little songwriting every day
From the course: One Minute Motivational Tips for Songwriters
Do a little songwriting every day
- [Narrator] I would highly recommend not waiting until you have a huge block of time to sit down and write a song. The problem with approaching it that way is it is extremely rare in our busy lives that we find ourselves with huge blocks of time. However, small pieces of time show up everywhere, so it is my contention that taking a little bit of time every day to work on your songwriting is infinitely better and decidedly more productive than looking for some big block of time where you can really dig in. That being said, if you can find a large chunk of time to work on your writing, wonderful. But don't make that your default setting. Your default setting should be, "I'm going to work on my songs "a little bit every day." What will end up happening is that you're going to look up at some point and realize how much you have been writing even though you haven't had big chunks of time to do it.
