Don't cancel a writing session
From the course: One Minute Motivational Tips for Songwriters
Don't cancel a writing session
- [Instructor] One of the things I've noticed in my years of writing songs is you will always be able to find a reason to cancel a writing session. Try really, really hard not to do that. The reason we're tempted to cancel, more often than not, is because we are scared of sitting down and getting started. Once we get over that little hump, things generally go beautifully. Please, if you can help it, try not to cancel a writing session. If you're writing by yourself, it's almost doubly hard because when you co-write, at least you're accountable to another person. It's one of the things I love about co-writing because that accountability prevents you from canceling. However, in either situation, writing alone or as a collaboration, if you scheduled an appointment to write, try really hard not to cancel.
