- [Instructor] One of the things that I've noticed is that a songwriting career really does ebb and flow. And again in interest of speaking to the big picture, when things look bleakest, when it looks like nothing is working, when it looks like no one is responding well to your songs, often that means you are right on the cusp of a big breakthrough or some really, really good news about something that you've done at some point to try and get your songs out there. So my recommendation would be, when things look at their worst, keep going. Just keep pushing through and one of the things that you will find is that behavior in and of itself tends to generate great rewards as you stick with your songwriting.
