Layering synth parts with hardware

- [Instructor] A spot that I notice a lot of people get into is that they like the synth parts that they have, but they want to add a little bit of extra boost to their sounds, they want to add some variation to their tune, but they don't really want to add too many more parts. Maybe the song works well as a structure, maybe you like the harmonic motion that it has, but it can be nice to add some extra rhythmic content to it and maybe some extra sounds to your palette. So, what I'm doing here is actually using an external hardware synth. It happens to be a Prophet '08. It's an analog eight voice synthesizer, made by Dave Smith, and what I'm doing is, I'm taking this path that we have here. (electronic music) And I'd like to give it a little extra juice. I'd like to give that particular part a little extra juice, and maybe create a variation there.
