- [Narrator] So part of the reason that I feel entitled to make courses on songwriting in the music business to begin with is that I have made quite possibly every mistake it is possible to make when it comes to having your career in music. One of the big mistakes that I made for a long time in my career was waiting around for opportunities for my songs. I can tell you with complete authority, this does not work. You have to actively look for pitch opportunities for your songs. If you're doing that, great things will happen. But if you're writing songs that you believe are great songs and waiting around for somebody to discover you or your songs, good luck. So get out there and look for pitch opportunities for your song.
