Make a list of publishers you want to meet
- [Narrator] If signing a publishing a deal, if becoming a staff songwriter is one of your major goals, then you need to make a list of publishers. Researching publishers, finding out which publishers are out there and the kinds of writers they have on their roster is really really important because that will help you decide if you would be a good fit there. Remember, it's not just about whether a publisher likes you, it is whether or not you would be a good fit for that publishing company. So making a list of publishers, finding out a little bit about their rosters, and finding out if they would be good for you is absolutely part of the process if you're serious about getting a publishing deal.
