- [Instructor] Despite the many notation and style functions, iReal Pro is, above all, a practice tool. The Practice icon opens two iReal Pro practice features; Automatic Tempo and Automatic Transposition. Setting a tempo increase of plus five BPM increases the tempo five beats per minute with every repeat indicated in the Repeats area. If you indicate five repeats, then by the fifth repeat your song would be 25 beats per minute faster than written. Setting a transposition of plus five would transpose up five semitones or a perfect fourth with every repeat. If you wanted to practice a song, in all 12 keys, you could set the number of repeats to 12, and set the key to transpose you through the entire circle of fifths. The two functions may also be used in conjunction triggering both an automatic tempo and key change with every repeat.
