- [Instructor] We're now ready to move on to the idea of our vocal chain. I like to do the tuning first, 'cause then the purest possible signal is going into all the processors that you've set up. And that's something that can make it sound a little bit more natural, a little bit more vibey. So the first thing I'm going to do is just a little bit of DS-ing, let me open this up. I like the FabFilter Pro-DS. And it's really simple to use. You just move the threshold, you can even Audition, which is really handy. This isn't a terribly sibilant vocal. The mic placement is pretty good. So let's take a listen. ♪ Yeah, time has changed through every strain for the better ♪ It's not too bad, but for some of these things, I like to just get a little bit of the chop off. And I like to use a split band, which means it's not going to dip the whole signal when it experiences that S. And by the way I'm auditioning which means we're just listening to the range that I'm telling it to process. So…
