Register your songs with your PRO
- [Narrator] Once you have affiliated with one of the PRO's, performing rights organizations, you should be registering your songs with your PRO. After you finish writing a song, and by the way this is a free service, you can register the song on the website of your PRO and you can designate the percentage of ownership of your song. In other words if you've collaborated it could be a 50/50 ownership or if there are more than two writers, you can designate what percentage belongs to each of you. And this will allow the PRO's to collect royalties on your behalf and this will be a public record of your song.
