Remember why you started writing songs
- [Instructor] Speaking of remembering, I think it is extremely important every once in a while to remember why you started writing songs in the first place. Very few of us start writing songs because we want to make money. We write songs because we're moved to do it. Something in our lives brought us to a point where we absolutely, positively had to create something to memorialize whatever it was we were going through or thinking about. So, although it's important to think of songwriting holistically and to look at moving forward and understanding the business, remembering why we actually started writing songs can be a great way to recenter ourselves and remember what's important.
