Research recording artists and their labels
- [Instructor] So it's one thing to hope that a major label artist will record one of your songs. It's another thing entirely to actually do the research. To research recording artists to find out what record labels they're on and make your pitch to the executives at the label. So by doing your homework and by hopefully over time, this doesn't happen immediately, developing relationships with someone at a record company you will be informed. You'll know which artists are on their label, and you'll be able to make pitches that are appropriate. Which, again, an appropriate pitch is the hallmark of a professional songwriter.
