Songs take their own time

Songs take their own time
- [Instructor] If I can leave you with a final thought at the end of this course, it would be that songs take their own time. Once you have written a song and put it out in the world, it is absolutely positively out of your control what will happen with that song. This is equal parts maddening and incredibly exciting. I can tell you that I have woken up to emails letting me know that a song that I wrote seven, eight, nine, 10 years ago will end up being recorded on an artist's album. It's like this magical gift that comes back from the past. All that to say be patient, do the work, and know that songs will do what they're going to do and will surprise you in ways that you can never imagine.
