- [Instructor] So let's talk about adding harmonics using tube style saturation. There's a reason why most guitars prefer tube amplifiers and I don't mean to speak for everyone, but it's pretty common. The reason is because they add a lot of really useful, even-order, and high-order harmonics that create a lot of presence in your sound, but also adds something that's very pleasing to the ear. So let's check out a few examples of tube saturation on the mix bus. Let's go ahead and we'll start with something really simple. Let's use iZotope Neutron. And in the exciter, there's this cool, sort of warm setting that I really like. But there's also a tube setting. So let's take a listen to that. Let's jump over to the first chorus here.
