Be open to editing

Be open to editing
- [Instructor] One more concept around the idea of editing is that you have to be open to editing your songs. You have to find that wonderful balance between loving what you've written and being willing to edit it to make it even better and more precise. As opposed to trying to edit too quickly in the writing process, there are some of us who are really unwilling to edit something once it's been written because there's this concept that everything that you wrote was perfect as it was. In reality, especially early on in our writing careers, the more open we are to editing our songs, the greater the likelihood that we will write something that is really finished and polished. So be open to editing your songs. Love what you're writing, but we aware that there's probably something that you can do to make it even better.
