- Welcome to capturing audio for video, tips and techniques. In this movie, we'll check out a shooting location or two, and discuss what to look for when visiting a location in advance, called scouting. Most people don't scout at all, and their shoots don't go as well. I've done that. It just seems like a lot of time to spend. But there are just too many surprises out there in the world that impact the picture and the sound of your show. Knowing about a few of them in advance and preparing for that will prevent you from having to schlep your gear all over the place, and help you make your shooting day go much more smoothly.
