From the course: Audio for Video: 3 Real World Solutions

Welcome

- Welcome to Capturing Audio for Video Real World Solutions. This course will help you solve several of the audio problems that often come up on location. For those of you joining me from the first course, Getting Started, and the second, Tips and Techniques, welcome. If you haven't watched those courses, I suggest you do so before this one, although I think this course will prove useful in any case. When you're on location trying to get your shoot completed, things will always come up to slow you down. There are just too many moving parts for everything to go smoothly, but that's okay, because we're filmmakers and we love the unexpected, right? Sound is no exception, but oddly, it's rarely considered in the planning or even the execution of a shoot. Sound can be complicated and it's critical for your show, so make the time to get it right, and that's where this course comes in. We'll look at all sorts of situations that can and will occur such as how to best record the sound of a talking head, what to do when you want a shot while the actor is on the move, how to record sound when the shot is just enormous, and what to do when you're recording on a really windy day. After watching this course, I'm confident, and you will be too, that you'll be able to handle the sound of your show with a lot more understanding and expertise. My evil plan is to make the world sound a little better one video at a time.
