- In this movie, I'll show you why using a built-in camera microphone is probably the worst thing you can do for your show. Most of you consider yourselves visually oriented people, and so you may have little concern for capturing good audio; but you're here watching this for a reason, and I'll wager that many of you find yourselves increasingly wrestling with sound and probably wondering how best to deal with it. There's an audio crisis out there folks, and this movie should really be called "Stop using the camera mic!" The truly awful sound that is associated with far too many videos, especially on YouTube and the like is almost always due to the wrong-headed use of the on-board camera microphone. Don't misunderstand me. It's not that you should never, ever use that mic, but relying upon it for your audio, especially for someone talking to camera or dialogue, is a big mistake that will ruin your show.
