- [Presenter] Filmmakers have benefited from connecting to fans online since the dawn of the internet age. Perhaps the first film to do this in a notable way was "The Blair Witch Project," one of the most profitable movies in history. And since then, filmmakers of all budgets have taken to social media to promote their films and get their fan bases engaged. Personally, I'm still trying to iron out for myself how I feel about social media as a whole, so I'm probably not the best authority on this subject, but I do have two tips for you, one about something to try, and one about something to avoid. Now, regardless of what you do on social media to garner attention to your projects, it's important to be honest and ethical.
