The Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)

- [Narrator] Once again we're staying in the floorplan.dwg file, and in order for me to show you some of these interface tools, we do need a file open. That's why we've got the floorplan.dwg open in this particular chapter, so that we can obviously go through all of the features, tools, and things that are available in the interface. So, we're going to now look at the quick access toolbar. That's this toolbar top left, near the application menu, up here like so. Now it's got some of the default commands in that you use all the time, so you need quick access to them, hence the name quick access toolbar. Sometimes known as the QAT, quick access toolbar for short. Now, you can see there that I can generate a new file, self-explanatory, creates a blank drawing file, I can open an existing file, I can save a file, I can do Save+As.
