- [Instructor] So what should you know before you start this AutoCAD Architecture Essential Training course? Well, the first thing you should have is a good working knowledge of AutoCAD. And what I suggest that you do is potentially take my Learning AutoCAD and AutoCAD Essential Training courses that are available in the library. That way you'll be well prepared for AutoCAD Architecture. You'll know the terminologies and the methodologies available in AutoCAD, and it's a lot easier then to jump into a tool set, such as the Architecture Tool Set that is AutoCAD Architecture. What you'll also need to know is the fact that AutoCAD Architecture has a subtly different interface to your regular AutoCAD. You'll notice on the Home tab on the ribbon, for example, you have a Build panel here. You also have over here, a Section and Elevation panel. These are very different to what you would be working with in regular AutoCAD and there things that you should know. And as we work through the course, you will learn how to operate those particular panels in the ribbon quickly and easily. The other thing you should know about AutoCAD Architecture is predominantly you will be working in a 3D environment, so you should really have a knowledge of 3D drafting in AutoCAD as well. Just to give you an idea, if I jump over here onto the View cube, you'll notice that that little floor plan there is actually in 3D, and it's got 3D objects in there as well, such as windows, and doors, and so on. If I jumped back to the top view on the View cube, we go back to our plan view, like so. So you need to know these things, really, before you start this particular course. They're things you should know. So, jump into my Learning AutoCAD course, and also my AutoCAD Essential Training course that are available in the library. That way you've got all that basic AutoCAD knowledge available to you and you're ready to go with AutoCAD Architecture.
