About surface analysis

- [Instructor] Civil 3D surfaces are complex, data rich objects that we can analyze to tell a story. And there are many types of analysis that we can do in Civil 3D. Let's take a look at the list. If I select the surface and then pick surface properties and go to the analysis tab, on the analysis type dropdown, we can see all the different types of analysis that are available. We can color code contours by elevation. We can indicate the direction of slopes. We can color code by elevations. We can color code by slope. We can also insert slope arrows all over the surface that indicate the direction that water is flowing down our slopes. We can even generate user-defined contours or watersheds on our surface. For example, if I change the style of the surface, which has already had a slope analysis run, we can see that the really flat slopes are colored in yellow, the good slopes are green and the slopes that are…
