About surface data

- [Instructor] Surfaces are built by adding several different types of data together, let's explore those different types of data. We can expand any surface in prospector to reveal the information underneath and within that structure we'll find the definition section, which contains all of the different potential data sources for a surface. Let's start with the most commonly used, the first one is Point Groups these are especially common for existing ground surfaces that are coming from survey data. After your data is imported and exists in the drawing, you can bring Point Groups into surfaces to form a major data source for that surface and each point in the Point Group typically represents something that was located out in the field. The next most common item is Breaklines, Breaklines have the job of representing the edges in a surface, edges of roads, tops of embankments or flow lines of curbs. Breaklines…
