Adding a pipe network to a profile view
- The work we've done so far on our pipe network has been really in Plan View. We know the software's handling the 3D for us, but to help us with that additional view, that Profile View, we need to be able to create a Profile View that follows our pipe network. Let's do that. We're going to open up our exercise file. Choose 10_04_PipeProfile. Click Open. Now, we can draw in alignment. Remember to have a profile view, it's a child of an alignment, so we need that linear path. We can draw that alignment on top of our pipe network, but there's a tool built in, so I'm going to go to our lowest structure, SSA-1 and select it. And in the contextual ribbon, notice the option to create an Alignment from Network. I'm going to select that option and it prompts me, it says, Select Next Network Part. You see it along the command line. That doesn't mean I have to pick every single part or structure to identify. It simply needs to be able to work around multiple branches. Since we don't have…
