- In the last video, we looked at design check sets to check our work as we go. In this video, we'll look at something a bit more sophisticated which does the same thing. The design criteria file. We'll start much in the same way that we did in the last video. I'll click the alignment, go to alignment properties and we'll turn our focus to the design criteria tab. We want to use criteria based design, we can see the design's being set to 25 miles per hour which is what we want but this time, we do want to use the design criteria file and not a check set. I'll click the ellipses here to choose which design criteria file I want to apply. Now these are the files that come with Civil 3D, out of the box, and they're based on AASHTO. You can see we've got a 2018 standard, 2011 standard and so on. We're going to choose the imperial 2018 standard for this example. I want to point out though that someone with the right skills…
