Create alignments using the alignment creation tools
- [Instructor] In the last video, you created alignments from polylines that were in the drawing already. In this video, let's explore how you create them from scratch using the alignment layout tools. Now, before we get started, I want you to take a look at the blue geometry that's drawn in the drawing right now. This is similar to what you might construct prior to creating any alignments in your design. Let's look at some of the things that we have here. We have a polyline that was created by offsetting the perimeter 150 feet. So we're trying to create lots that are actually a little less than 150 feet deep, because this is to the center line of the road. So you could figure 25 feet to the right-of-way, which means our lot would be about 125 feet deep. Another thing that we typically have to do is if we're intersecting with an existing road, it's best to do that at a 90 degree angle, and you can see that labeled here.…
