Create a corridor surface
- [Instructor] As you learned earlier, surfaces are a fundamental part of the Civil 3D model and serve many functions. For that reason, we need to derive a surface from our corridor. Let's see how that's done. Before we dive in, I want to take you into the help and I want to talk about some of the detailed information that's stored within a subassembly. So let's do that. I'll click the Help icon up here in the top right corner and if you remember, our lane subassembly is called BasicLaneTransition. I'll type that in the search field and you'll see the very top link is that BasicLaneTransition. As we scroll down through, you can see there's lots of information assigned to this subassembly. And I want to talk about how subassemblies are broken down. The fundamental parts of a subassembly are points, links and shapes.
