Create a layout profile
- [Instructor] In the previous video, you saw how to represent the existing ground surface in profile view using a surface profile. Now let's take a look at how to represent the proposed elevations using a layout profile. Let's jump right in. Going to go up to the home tab of the ribbon, click the profile drop down, and then profile creation tools. Next, I'll select my profile view, that just kind of tells civil 3D where I'm working in which alignment I'm working with. That brings up the create profile drawn new dialog box, the alignment is already selected. It did that when I picked the profile view. The name is based on a name template, which I can wipe out completely and type in my own name. Or in this case, I'll just use the parameters of the name template to automatically name my profile.
