Create surface labels

- We've spent a lot of time building and editing surfaces, now it's time to annotate them. Let's take a look at how to add slope and elevation labels. I'll start by launching the add labels command and for feature I'll select surface. We've got quite a list of label types here. We've got slope, spot elevation and spot elevation on grid, as well as several contour labeling options that I'll cover in the next video. Let's start with a slope label. I'll choose that option and click add, notice that my style is set to one called percent I'll select my surface, then I've got the option of a one point or a two point label. If I choose a one point label, it means that I'm going to pick one point and Civil 3D will figure out the direction of that slope label for me and it's always going to point directly downhill.
