Creating grading objects

- [Instructor] Now that we understand how Civil 3D uses Grading Criterias to automate the grading, we're going to go ahead and create some grading objects. Let's open up our exercise file, 13_02, GradingCreate. And in this drawing, we have a feature line we've been working with. It has some edits that have been done, as we see an elevation point added here at the midpoint. And if we open up our Elevation Editor, you can see some of the grades throughout and the points. So we don't have a set, continuous, flat feature line that we're going to be grading from. We're going to be grading from our pond bottom here and grading out using the criteria that we saw in our last video, that cross-section. We're going to go up to 737, have a ledge, then go up to 740 at the top of our berm and daylight to our surface. To do that, we're going to come to the Home Ribbon, Create Design Panel, choose Grading, and Grading Creation Tools. It opens up a toolbar. These toolbars are starting to look…
