- [Narrator] In a previous video, you learned how to create sample lines, which represent where sections will be cut in the drawing. Let's take a look at the different ways that you can edit those sample lines. The first way I'll show you, which is probably the simplest is grip editing, I can click a sample line, and you can see the different grips that appear. This diamond shaped grip allows me to slide the sample line up and down the alignment. And you'll notice if I go to a curved area of the alignment, the sample line will maintain its orientation with that alignment. The square grips allow me to move the endpoint of the segment changing not only the angle, but also the swath width for that segment of the sample line. And the triangle grip holds the direction of the sample line, allowing me to lengthen and shorten it. So it's basically just adjusting the swath width on that side of the sample line.
