- [Instructor] And we're going to look at how we can import survey data. Now you can always import points from an external file into the drawing from a tool on the insert ribbon. Import points from file we'll take a brief look at that when we get into our exercise file. But again what we're focusing in on is importing point data not into just the drawing or whether we even import it into a drawing but we're looking at bringing those points into a survey database. So we're going to open up importing our exercise file here. Come to Autodesk simple 3D choose open and the exercise file we're using is 03_05 importing survey data. Is a blank drawing because we're importing survey data into the database that we're going to create. And as an afterthought those points and other things will be drawn in our drawing. Now as I mentioned from the insert ribbon, import panel notice you can import points from an external ASCII file right into the drawing. But we want to do it in the database. So from…
