Perform a mapcheck analysis
- At times you will need to determine the error of closure on the bearings, distances and curve data that make up a legal boundary. Let's look at how map check let's you do that. To launch the map check tool, I first need to go to the survey tab of the ribbon and then I can simply click the map check icon here. For a moment I'm going to make this window a little smaller, so that we can see the drawing beneath. I'll start by clicking the icon to create a new map check. On the command line I'm prompted for the name of the map check. I'm going to call this parcel 1-6-6. Next it prompts me for the point of beginning so I'll use my AutoCAD and point snap to pick the end point of this first parcel line. And now what I do is simply select labels going in a clockwise direction around the parcel. I want to point something out that the labels that I have on the curves include the chord bearing.
